NORWESTER

John Wayne returned to the Pacific Northwest.   The Norwester is a piece of our own history officially anchored as of July 9, 2016 – April 2017 in beautiful La Conner, Washington.   The yacht has been sold.   Thank you for your support and support of beautiful La Conner.

The 76-foot yacht has been renovated and restored as a museum, showcasing items owned by  “the Duke” as well an assortment of antiques and actual props used in his movies.  Visit the Norwester and experience a “live” time capsule of Washington’s shared history with the legendary actor and producer John Wayne.   “Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday.”

WHERE HISTORY + LEGEND MEET

If you love boats, this is something beautiful to see. If you love John Wayne -then this is the best of both!

Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.

Courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway.

Get off your horse and drink your milk.

Talk low, talk slow and don’t say too much.

I suppose my best attribute, if you want to call it that, is sincerity. I can sell sincerity because that’s the way I am.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING…

The Norwester Museum Tour is authentically La Conner!   We thank you for your support and this beautiful town and also the museum.   We are no longer operating and the Norwester has been sold to a new owner.   Please visit  and help small town’s like this keep thriving.    Thank you also to Guy Vallee and the Waterfront Cafe for all you do.  Visit them for their annual Thanksgiving Fundraiser!
